ARMED FORCES REMEMEBRANCE DAY

In solemn remembrance of courage and sacrifice, the Adamawa
state government has joined the rest of the nation to mark the 2026-armed
forces Remembrance Day, honoring men and women who laid down their lives in Defence
of Nigeria.
The wreath laying ceremony, held at the Mahmud Ribadu square
in Yola, drew top government officials, security chiefs and members of the
armed forces, all united in paying tribute to the fallen heroes.
Governor Umaru Fintiri, represented by his deputy, professor
Kaletapwa Farauta, said the day serves as a powerful reminder of the price paid
for peace and national unity - she noted beyond remembering the fallen heroes,
the occasion also acknowledges the sacrifices of their families and the
continued dedication of the officers still serving on the frontlines.
The Deputy Dovernor Prof. Farauta commended the Nigerian
armed forces for their resilience and commitment to safeguarding lives and
property, assuring them of the government's sustained support in addressing prevailing security challenges.
The ceremony was attended by the speaker, Adamawa state house of assembly hon. Bathiya Wesley, the Chief Judge of Adamawa state, service commanders, and other dignitaries, who all took turns laying wreaths in Honor of the fallen heroes.
