Customs seizes petroleum product and contraband clothings in Adamawa.

The Nigeria Customs Service, Adamawa/Taraba Area Command,
has continued its onslaught on smugglers of fuel and other contraband products
through the Nation's borders to neighboring countries.
The latest involves the seizure of petroleum products and contraband clothing
worth over fifty eight million naira in separate intelligence covert operations
by its operatives in Adamawa and Taraba States.
Briefing journalists at a press conference in Yola, the Adamawa state Capital,
the area controller, Adamawa and Taraba state Command , Mohammed Aminu-Tako
warns smugglers and their collaborators to look for legitimate means of
livelihood or face the long arm of the law.
The press conference took place at the Nigeria Customs Service Customs House in
Yola, Adamawa State. It was convened to officially present recent seizures
comprising petroleum products and contraband clothing made by officers of the
Adamawa/Taraba Area Command of Premium Motor Spirit ( PMS) Worth over 58
million naira.
They include a total of one thousand, eight hundred and eighty six jerricans
and one drum containing over fifty thousand liters of PMS alongside ten bales
and two sacks of second hand clothing .
According to the Area Controller, comptroller Mohammed Aminu Tako, the seizures
were the result of sustained intelligence-driven patrols, strategic
checkpoints, and coordinated operations by officers determined to curb illegal
trade.
The comptroller further took the press on a tour of the Intercepted PMS and
issued a warning to all smugglers and their collaborators to desist from
illegal activities, reiterating that the command remains committed to
protecting the nation’s borders and strengthening economic stability.
