The Huba Chiefdom Traditional Council in Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State, has announced a lineup of activities to commemorate the first anniversary of the creation and restoration of the Huba Chiefdom.

The Huba people, predominantly settled across the hill country of Hong, occupy a landscape bordered by the Mubi Hills to the east, Holma and Zumo mountains to the south, River Hawul to the north, and the Gombi Hills to the west.
According to the council, the week-long celebration will feature cultural exhibitions, sporting competitions, religious observances, and the unveiling of the Hong Local Government Development Plan.

 The event is expected to attract dignitaries from within and outside the state.
The anniversary will be hosted by His Royal Majesty, Alheri Bulus Nyako, the Tol Huba, while Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who created the chiefdom alongside six others in December 2024 and presented the Staff of Office in February 2025, is billed to attend as Special Guest of Honour.

As part of the celebrations, the governor will also be conferred with the traditional title of Midala Huba in recognition of his role in restoring the chiefdom.
Scheduled activities include:
Thursday, February 12, 2026: Presentation of trophies and medals to winners of the Tol Alheri B. Nyako Annual Inter-District Football Tournament
Friday, February 13, 2026: Special Juma’at prayer at Hong Central Mosque
Saturday, February 14, 2026: Grand celebration at Hong Mini Township Stadium under the chairmanship of Boss Gida Mustapha, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, followed by a mini Durbar procession at the Old Palace
Sunday, February 15, 2026: Thanksgiving service at Unity Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria
The council has invited sons, daughters, friends, and neighbours of the chiefdom, both at home and in the diaspora, to participate in the historic celebration..
