ADSEIC PRESENTS CERTIFICATES OF RETURN TO NEWLY ELECTED ADAMAWA LG CHAIRMEN

The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has presented Certificates of Return to the 21 newly elected local government chairmen in Adamawa State, marking the successful conclusion of the state's local government elections.
The certificates were presented by the Chairman of ADSIEC, Mohammed Umar, during a ceremony held at Madugu Hotel in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
Speaking at the event, Mohammed Umar described the presentation as the final stage of a peaceful, transparent, and credible electoral process. He said the issuance of the Certificates of Return reflects the will of the people and reinforces democratic governance at the grassroots level.
"The Certificates of Return are not merely documents; they represent the trust and confidence reposed in you by the electorate," Umar stated.
He urged the newly elected chairmen to promote unity, transparency, and inclusive governance, stressing that the expectations of the people at the grassroots remain high.
The ADSIEC chairman also congratulated the chairmen-elect and vice chairmen-elect, encouraging them to regard their victory as a call to selfless service, integrity, and accountability.
He commended electoral officials, security agencies, political parties, and other stakeholders for their contributions to the successful conduct of the elections.
"This presentation is a testament to the will of the people of Adamawa State. We commend the electorate for their orderly conduct and the political parties for adhering to the rules," he added.
Speaking with journalists after receiving his Certificate of Return, the Chairman-elect of Yola North Local Government Area, Barrister Jibrilla Jimeta, expressed appreciation to the commission for conducting what he described as a transparent and credible election.
He pledged that the newly elected council leaders would work closely with the state government to drive grassroots development and improve the welfare of the people.
Barrister Jimeta also appealed to candidates who lost the elections to accept the outcome in good faith and support the winners in the interest of peace, unity, and sustainable development across their communities.
The presentation of the Certificates of Return marks a significant milestone in the transition process as the newly elected chairmen prepare to assume office and begin governance at the local government level..
