Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri has announced fresh infrastructure projects for Guyuk Local Government Area as his statewide tour of communities across Adamawa State continues, unveiling plans for rural electrification, road construction and improved public services.
During a visit to the area on Tuesday, the governor approved the connection of Bobini and Bodeno wards to the national grid and flagged off construction of the eight-kilometre Banjiram–Chikila road, a project residents described as long overdue.
Fintiri also committed to constructing two-and-a-half kilometres of internal roads within Guyuk town to ease transportation and boost economic activities.
Addressing residents, the governor said the projects form part of his administration’s resolve to spread the dividends of democracy to rural communities and ensure balanced development across the state.
He directed the Commissioner for Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, Titus Obadiah, to complete the electrification of Bobini and Bodeno within six months, noting that the communities have lived without electricity and other basic amenities for decades.
The governor further ordered the speedy completion of the ongoing water supply project and disclosed that the second phase of the Guyuk Cottage Hospital rehabilitation would soon begin, with plans to upgrade the facility into a fully functional General Hospital.
Accompanied by his deputy, Kaletapwa Farauta, party leaders and top government officials, Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, assuring residents that development would not be influenced by political affiliation.
Guyuk Local Government Chairman, Barrister Kasa Shalom, commended the governor for what he described as visible development strides in the area, citing projects such as the Local Education Authority office complex and the Kwadadai Health Clinic.
Earlier, the governor paid a courtesy visit to the Kwandi Nungura, Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda II, at his palace, where the traditional ruler expressed appreciation for the government’s interventions while appealing for the speedy electrification of underserved communities.
The visit forms part of Fintiri’s ongoing tour of the 21 local government areas aimed at assessing needs and delivering infrastructure directly to grassroots communities.
